Address:
Stratford
Taranaki
New Zealand
Stratford is in the Taranaki Region, in New Zealand's North Island, located approximately half-way between New Plymouth and Hawera. It is the closest main centre to Egmont National Park.
Stratford was named in honour of Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon in England. That's why most of the street names have a reference to the great playwright. You can watch a five-minute rendition of his famous play, Romeo and Juliet at the town's famous Glockenspiel clock tower. Life like animated models emerge for the balcony scene four times a day, reaffirming their vows of love.
A great place to live, work and enjoy
